Education of pregnant women about childbirth injury and the possibilities of its prevention

Abstract:

Birth injury is one of the most common complications that a midwife can encounter during childbirth. Midwives should be keen to minimize the incidence of birth injury, which can be achieved by properly educating pregnant women during pregnancy. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to elaborate and implement an educational plan on the topic of birth injury and possibilities of its prevention. The aim of education was to provide women with relevant information on this issue. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on basic information about education, anatomy of the pelvis and birth canal, birth injury and selected ways of preventing birth injury. The practical part contains an elaborated educational plan, with implementation in three pregnant women. The assessment process took the form of an entrance test and an interview with clients. Based on these results, an individual educational plan was developed so that it would be as beneficial as possible for women.As part of the education for women, practical training of prevention techniques about which women were educated took place. The success of education was evaluated using an output test. Part of the elaboration of the educational plan was the creation of educational material containing basic information on the prevention of birth injury during pregnancy and childbirth, with a summary of the basic principles of care for the resulting birth injury.

Abstract:

Pôrodné poranenie patrí medzi najčastejšie komplikácie s ktorými sa v priebehu pôrodu môže pôrodná asistentka stretnúť. Pôrodné asistentky by mali mať záujem na minimalizácií výskytu pôrodného poranenia, čoho je možné docieliť správnou edukáciou tehotných žien už v priebehu tehotenstva. Cieľom bakalárskej práce bolo vypracovanie a realizácia edukačného plánu na tému pôrodného poranenia a možností jeho prevencie. Edukácia mala za cieľ sprostredkovať ženám relevantné informácie v tejto problematike. Teoretická časť bakalárskej práce je zameraná na základné informácie o edukácií, anatómii panvy a pôrodných ciest, pôrodnom poranení a vybraných spôsoboch prevencie pôrodného poranenia. Praktická časť obsahuje vypracovaný edukačný plán, s realizáciou u troch tehotných žien. Proces posúdenia prebehol formou vstupného testu a rozhovoru s klientkami. Na základe týchto výsledkov bol vypracovaný individuálny edukačný plán, tak aby bola pre ženy čo najprínosnejšia. V rámci edukácie u žien prebehol praktickým nácvik techník prevencie o ktorých boli ženy edukované. Úspešnosť edukácie bola vyhodnotená pomocou výstupného testu. Súčasťou vypracovania edukačného plánu bolo vytvorenie edukačného materiálu obsahujúceho základné informácie o prevencii pôrodného poranenia v tehotenstve a počas pôrodu, so zhrnutím základných zásad starostlivosti o vzniknuté pôrodné poranenie.
