Forest regeneration affected by ash diebacking

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá obnovou, resp. rekonstrukcí lesních porostů postižených chřadnutím jasanu způsobeným houbovým patogenem Hymenoscyphus fraxineus Šetření probíhalo na LS Strážnice a na demonstrační ploše u obce Křenovice. Ve vybraných postižených porostech byl hodnocen stav a potenciál přirozené obnovy. Na dvou demonstračních objektech byla hodnocena umělá obnova těchto v r. 2017 vysázených dřevin lípa malolistá (Tilia cordata), habr obecný (Carpinus betulus), javor mléč (Acer platanoides) a třešeň ptačí (Prunus avium). Potenciál a stav přirozené obnovy v jasanových porostech je nízký resp. hospodářsky málo významný. Důvodem je velmi silná buřeň v kombinaci se suchým obdobím v posledních letech. Z testovaných dřevin nejlépe odrůstá javor mléč (Acer platanoides). Lépe odrůstají dřeviny na LS – SLT 1L než v Křenovicích. Všechny testované dřeviny lze doporučit k rekonstrukci porostů postižených chřadnutím jasanu.

Abstract:

The dissertation speaks about restoring, we can also say reconstructing forest areas affected by ash diebacking caused by the fungal pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. The survey was happening at LS Strážnice and on the demonstration area near the village of Křenovice. The condition and potential of natural regeneration were evaluated in selected affected areas. Linden (Tilia cordata), hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), Norway maple (Acer platanoides) and wild cherry (Prunus avium) were evaluated on two demonstration areas in 2017. The potential and condition of natural regeneration in ash areas is low and economically insignificant. The reason is a very strong weed in combination with the dry season over the last years. Of the tested woodey species, Norway maple (Acer platanoides) is the one best growing. Tree species grow better on LS - SLT 1L than in Křenovice. All tested tree species can be recommended for the reconstruction of areas affected by ash diebacking.
