Uraninite from the Rožná deposit

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnuji studiu uranové mineralizaci na ložisku Rožná. Zkoumám stavbu a chemické složení uranových minerálů ze smolincové žilky protínající starší sulfidické zrudnění na 21. patře dolu Rožná. Jedná se o velmi komplexní uranovou mineralizaci, jejíž složitost se projevuje jak stavbou, tak i chemickým složením studovaného uraninitu. Byly identifikovány tři hlavní procesy, které ovlivnily chemické složení studované mineralizace. (1) Původní uranonosná fluida byla obohacena o V a relativně ochuzena o REE, Zr a Th, což svědčí o jejich relativně nízkoteplotním charakteru. (2) K obohacení o Ba, Zn, Sb, Ag a částečně Pb došlo v důsledku interakce primárních fluid s okolním, starším Pb-Zn-Ba zrudněním. A konečně (3) zvýšené obsahy Si jsou důsledkem mladší coffinitizace která způsobuje zatlačování primárního uraninitu.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis I study uranium mineralization at Rožná deposit. I am investigating the structure and chemical composition of uranium minerals from pitchblende vein intersecting the older sulphide mineralization on the 21st floor of the Rožná mine. It is a very complex uranium mineralization whose complexity manifests itself as structure and chemical composition of the studied uraninite mineralization. There were identified three main processes that affected the chemical composition of the studied mineralization. (1) The primary uranium fluids were enriched with V and relatively depleted of REE, Zr and Th, which is indicative of their relatively low temperature character. (2) Enrichment on Ba, Zn, Sb, Ag and partially Pb occurred due to interaction of primary fluids with surrounding, older Pb-Zn-Ba mineralization. Finally, (3) increased Si content is a consequence younger coffinitization that causes forcing primary uraninite.
