The Motive of Loneliness in Maria Kuncewiczova's "The Stranger"
Abstract:
Cílem mé práce je analyzovat pocit samoty v románu Cudzoziemka (Cizinka), jehož autorkou je polská spisovatelka Marie Kuncewiczowa. Ve své práci jsem se zabývala také hlavní postavou, kterou je zlá, nenaplněná žena Róża Żabczyńska. Věnuji se také rozboru samotného románu, který jakožto psychologický román z období meziválečné literatury zaujímá významné místo v polské literatuře.
Abstract:
The aim of my thesis is to analyse the motive of loneliness in „The Stranger „, a novel written by the Polish author Maria Kuncewiczowa. The thesis focuses mostly on the main character of the novel, Róża Żabczyńska, who is a shrew and unfulfilled woman. I also analyse and interpret the plot of thenovel which, as a psychological novel set in the interwar period, is a literary hallmark of Polish literature …more
