Trasology of selected cases in criminalistic practice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá jedním ze základních oborů kriminalistické techniky – trasologií, na příkladu konkrétního kriminalistického případu Ivana Jonáka. Cílem práce je detailně prozkoumat daný případ z pohledu trasologie a pomocí vytvoření nového 3D modelu stopy porovnat podobnost s originálním modelem a zajistit případné odchylky za účelem zjištění možnosti použití modelování stop na 3D tiskárnách. Teoretická část představuje úvod do oboru trasologie, který je pro bakalářskou práci stěžejní. Kromě stručného historického vývoje oboru, jsou zde popsány typy trasologických stop, metody jejich zviditelňování a zajišťování, včetně nejznámějších identifikačních systémů používaných kriminalisty. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na popis reálného kriminalistického případu Ivana Jonáka se zaměřením na trasologické stopy ve formě chrupu. Autor práce na základě dostupných materiálů vytvořil nový model stopy na 3D tiskárně, který následně porovnal s originálním modelem. V závěru práce autor vypracoval porovnání obou modelů, včetně obrazových příloh za účelem zjištění procenta jejich podobnosti, případných odchylek a možnosti využití 3D tiskáren v kriminalistice.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with one of the basic parts of forensic technology - trasology, with an example of a specific Czech criminal case of Ivan Jonak. The aim of the thesis is to examine the case in detail from the point of view of the trasology and by creating a new 3D model of the trace to compare the similarity with the original model and ensure possible deviations to determine the possibility of using trace modeling on 3D printers. The theoretical part is like an introduction to the field of trasology, which is crucial for the bachelor´s thesis. In addition to a brief historical development of the field, the types of trasological traces, methods of their visibility and securing are described here, including the most well-known identification systems used by criminologists. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the description of a real criminal case of Ivan Jonak with a focus on trasological traces in the form of his teeth. Based on the available materials, the author created a new model of the teeth on a 3D printer, which he compared with the original model. At the end of the thesis, the author made a comparison of both models, including pictures to determine the percentage of their similarity, possible deviations, and the possibility of using 3D printers in criminology.
