Physiotherapy in the patient after cervical spine surgery

Abstract:

Úvod: Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou fyzioterapie u pacienta po operaci krční páteře v segmentu C6/7 z důvodu komprese míchy dorzálními osteofyty s přítomností radikulopatií. Cíl práce: Cílem práce je přispět k řešení problematiky degenerativního onemocnění meziobratlové ploténky a k výběru optimální terapie, fyzioterapeutických postupů a konceptů u pacienta po operaci. Metodika: V mé bakalářské práci jsem vybrala několik způsobů terapií pro pacienta po operaci krční páteře. Pacient docházel na terapie 2-3x týdně. Celkem bylo provedeno 10 terapií, které jsem navrhla na základě vstupního kineziologického rozboru. Zaměřili jsme se na zvětšení rozsahu pohybu a zvětšení svalové síly, pomocí konceptu dle Brüggera s TheraBandem a při cvičení na RedCordu. Tohoto cvičení jsme využili také k posílení svalů lopatek. V rámci aktivace hlubokého stabilizačního systému jsme využili fyzioballu a konceptu dynamické neuromuskulární stabilizace. Výsledky: U pacienta došlo ke zvětšení rozsahů pohybu a svalové síly. Zlepšila se dynamika páteře a zmenšili se stupně zkrácených struktur. V kineziologických rozborech nedošlo k výraznému zlepšení držení těla. Závěry: V rámci krátkodobého plánu fyzioterapie se díky zvolené metodice podařilo dosáhnout zlepšení pacientova stavu.

Abstract:

Introduction: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of physiotherapy in a patient after cervical spine surgery in the C6 / 7 segment due to spinal cord compression by dorsal osteophytes with the presence of radiculopathy. The objective: The aim of the work is to contribute to the solution of the problem of degenerative disease of the intervertebral disc and to the selection of optimal therapy, physiotherapeutic procedures and concepts in the patient after surgery. Methodology: In my bachelor's thesis, I selected several therapies for patients after cervical spine surgery. The patient attended therapy 2-3 times a week. In total it was done 10 therapies that I proposed to be based on the initial kinesiological analysis.We focused on increasing the range of motion and increasing muscle strength, using the Brügger concept with TheraBand and exercising at RedCord. We also used this exercise to strengthen the muscles of the shoulder blades. As part of the activation of the deep stabilization system, we used the physioball and the concept of dynamic neuromuscular stabilization. Results: The patient's range of motion and muscle strength increased. The dynamics of the spine improved and the degrees of shortened structures decreased. There was no significant improvement in posture in kinesiological analyzes. Conclusions: Thanks to the chosen methodology, the patient's condition was improved within the short-term physiotherapy plan.
