Implementation of media education in czech history and geography lessons

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se soustředíme na problematiku implementace průřezového tématu Mediální výchova do hodin vlastivědy. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. V části teoretické se zabýváme pojmy média, mediální výchova, důležitostí čtenářské a mediální gramotnosti ve společnosti a začleněním těchto témat do Rámcového vzdělávacího programu. V praktické části se věnujeme výukovým blokům hodin vlastivědy a porovnáváme dvě třídy, kdy jedna se vzdělává standardním způsobem, za použití běžných výukových pomůcek a třída druhá má ve výuce větší možnost využití moderních technologií, zároveň se začleněním znalostí z oblasti mediální výchovy. Znalosti těchto tříd jsou v závěru porovnávány pomocí didaktického testu a rovněž jsou zjišťovány jejich poznatky týkající se mediální výchovy. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda je pro žáky prospěšné začleňování mediální výchovy do výuky.

Abstract:

In the diploma thesis, we focus on the issue of implementing the cross-cutting topic of media education into Czech History and Geography lessons. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, we focus on the concepts of media, media education and the importance of reading and media literacy in society and the inclusion of these topics in the Framework Education Program. In the practical part, we focus on teaching blocks of Czech History and Geography lessons and compare two classes, one of them is taught in a standard way, using common teaching aids. The other class has a greater opportunity to use modern technologies in teaching, while also incorporating knowledge from the field of media education. At the end, the knowledge of these classes is compared using a didactic test, and their knowledge of media education is also ascertained. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the inclusion of media education in teaching is beneficial for pupils.
