Práca popisuje čipové karty podľa štandardu ISO/IEC 7816-4 a elektronické cestovné pasy podľa štandardu ICAO Doc 9303. Poskytuje úvod do problematiky vývoja ovládačov pre Windows 8 a popisuje prostredie čipových kariet v rámci systému Windows 8.
