The Portrayal of a Serf Character in Selected Works of N. F. Pavlov and N. V. Gogol
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá analýzou zobrazení postavy nevolníka v „Mrtvých duších“ N. V. Gogola a „Tří povídek“ N. F. Pavlova. Mimo provedený rozbor je čtenáři poskytnut historický kontext 19. století se zaměřením na tehdejší obraz nevolnictví. Práce dále představuje život a dílo výše uvedených autorů, a to včetně literárně-kulturního pozadí.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the analysis of a portrayal of a serf character in „The Dead Souls“ by N. V. Gogol and „The Three Stories“ by N. F. Pavlov. Except for the analysis, the reader is provided with a context of a 19th century, specializing on the form of serfdom. In addition, life and works of the writers listed above are introduced to the reader, including the literary-cultural background.
