Comparison of integration policies towards Muslim immigrants in selected EU countries

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá integrací cizinců, především muslimů, ve vybraných zemích EU, konkrétně v České republice, ve Francii a v Německu. Cílem práce je podat komplexní srovnání integračních opatření uplatňovaných vůči muslimským přistěhovalcům žijícím v těchto zemích a na jeho základě zjistit, do jaké míry se tyto integrační strategie shodují či odlišují. První část popisuje historii a současný vývoj imigrace muslimů do vybraných zemí a jejich integrace. Následující kapitola se zaměřuje na jednotlivé formy imigračních a zejména integračních politik uplatňovaných vůči občanům třetích zemí v ČR, ve Francii a v Německu. Třetí část se zabývá konkrétními integračními opatřeními, jejichž cílem je usnadnění a zlepšení integrace muslimských přistěhovalců v těchto zemích. A poslední část práce je věnována komparaci uvedených informací, tedy jak všeobecných imigračních a integračních politik vybraných zemí, tak integračních strategií uplatňovaných vůči muslimům.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the integration of foreigners, especially Muslims, in selected EU countries, namely the Czech Republic, France and Germany. The aim is to provide a comprehensive comparison of integration measures against Muslim immigrants living in these countries, and on the basis of the comparison to determine to what extent these integration strategies coincide or differ. The first part describes the history and current development of Muslim immigration into the selected countries and their integration. The following chapter focuses on the various forms of immigration and integration policies particularly exercised to third-country nationals in the Czech Republic, France and Germany. The third part deals with specific integration measures aimed at facilitating and improving the integration of Muslim immigrants in these countries. The last part is devoted to a comparison of the information given in the thesis, i.e. both general immigration and integration policies in selected countries and integration strategies exercised against the Muslims.
