The Information Literacy Education at Academic Libraries with Focus on the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské diplomové práce je problematika informačního vzdělávání v prostředí vysokoškolských knihoven. Jedním z úkolů těchto knihoven je podílet se na zvyšování informační gramotnosti vysokoškolských studentů a připravovat je tak na celoživotní vzdělávání. Součástí práce jsou i teoretická východiska - definice a struktura pojmu informační gramotnost. Dalším bodem je stanovení obsahu informačního vzdělávání a zpracování přehledu jeho možných forem používaných v praxi. Uvedené příklady ilustrují současné trendy v této oblasti v zahraničí i v České republice. Práce obsahuje podrobnou analýzu současného stavu informačního vzdělávání na Fakultě sociálních studií MU. Cílem této práce je na základě získaných teoretických i praktických poznatků navrhnout koncepci vývoje informačního vzdělávání na výše uvedené fakultě.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is information literacy education at academic libraries. One of the tasks of academic libraries is to teach students information literacy skills and prepare them for the lifelong learning. The thesis includes definition and structure of information literacy. Next it deals with the scheme and content of information literacy education. The work contains the list of forms of information education. The mentioned examples of information literacy programmes demonstrate the current trends abroad as well as in the Czech Republic. The main part of the work is the detailed analysis of the current situation at the library of Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University. The aim of this thesis is to propose the strategy for developing the programme of information literacy education at the Faculty of Social Studies.
