Designing a Business Model for a British Café Providing English Lessons

Abstract:

Smyslem této diplomové práce je vytvoření business modelu britské kavárny poskytující výuku angličtiny ve svých prostorách. Součástí této kavárny bude také miniknihkupectví nabízející učebnice angličtiny a knihy od britských autorů. Aby mohl být takový business model vytvořen, bylo nezbytné provést analýzu podnikatelského prostředí. Pro tu je použita PESTE analýza, rozbor megatrendů v oblasti kavárnictví a výuky jazyků a dále Porterova analýza pěti konkurenčních sil. Pro lepší pochopení potenciálních zákazníků kavárny je proveden kvantitativní výzkum. Na základě těchto analýz je vytvořený business model britské kavárny, který byl navržen pomocí metodiky Lean Canvas. Tato metodika umožňuje zhmotnit podnikatelský nápad. Výsledkem celé diplomové práce je vypracovaný business model, jehož jednotlivé stavební prvky jsou sice pouhými hypotézami, avšak mohou sloužit k ověření a zjištění vhodnosti business modelu v podnikatelské praxi.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to design a business model for a British café giving English lessons on its premises. This café will also include a mini bookstore offering English textbooks and books by British authors. In order to design such a business model, it is necessary to analyse the business environment. For this reason, a PESTE analysis, an analysis of megatrends in the café industry and language learning, as well as Porter's five competitive forces analysis are used. Quantitative research is used to better understand the potential customers of the café. Based on these analyses, a business model for a British café is designed using the Lean Canvas methodology. This methodology allows the business idea to materialize. The result of the entire thesis is a designed business model, whose individual building blocks, although mere hypotheses, can be used to verify and detect the suitability of the business model in reality.
