Perception of the therapeutic relationship by clients with schizophrenia and help workers in social services

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnuji percepci terapeutického vztahu z pohledu klientů se schizofrenií a pomáhajících pracovníků. Cílem diplomové práce je odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jakým způsobem percipují klienti se schizofrenií a pomáhající pracovníci terapeutický vztah v rámci sociálních služeb?“ V teoretické části objasňuji nejprve pojem duševní nemoci a poté schizofrenii, její symptomy, projevy a léčbu. Zabývám se vztahem, respektive percepcí vztahu mezi klietem a pomáhajícím pracovníkem v kontextu sociální práce a poskytování sociálních služeb. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou tak věnovány vztahu mezi klientem se schizofrenií a pomáhajícím pracovníkem z pohledu terapeutického paradigmatu sociální práce a vybraných terapeutických směrů. Sociální služby vymezuji na základě jejich zákonného ukotvení. Závěr teoretické části patří percepci. Ve výzkumné části je ukotvena metodologie výzkumu, provedena operacionalizace dílčích výzkumných otázek a interpretace výsledku výzkumu.

Abstract:

The subject of this Master's Thesis is the perception of therapeutic relation both by clients afflicted by schizophrenia, and by assisting professionals. Its object is to provide an answer to a chief research interrogation, namely: "How do schizophrenic patients and assisting professionals perceive the therapeutic relation as formed within social services provision?" First part of the thesis, setting a theoretical framework first defines a concept of mental illness followed by the concept of schizophrenia, its symptoms, manifestations, and treatment. The relation, or rather perceptions of this relation between a client and an assisting professional in a social work and social services provision context is addressed. Individual chapters thus focus on the relation between a client with schizophrenia and an assisting professional from the perspective of therapeutic paradigms of social work and of chosen therapeutic schools. Within the thesis, social services are defined based on their regulatory legal framework. In conclusion to the theoretical framework the issue of perception is treated. In the second, applied research part of the thesis the methodology of the research is described, specific research questions are operationalized, and research outcomes interpreted.
