Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce s názvem Římská republika a její instituce pojednává o vzniku republikánského zřízení v antickém Římě po vyhnání posledního krále a následném formování předních politických institucí. Cílem práce je objasnit vznik, vzestup, krizi a následný pád římské republiky, který umožnil nástup císařství. Text je rozdělen do pěti základních částí. Po shrnutí základních principů římského republikánského zřízení je práce zaměřena na Ciceronovy politicko-filosofické myšlenky, jež vyzdvihovaly římskou smíšenou ústavu v tehdejším světle demokracie. Závěr práce je věnován úpadku republiky a přechodu na císařství. Diplomová práce je založená na obsahové analýze dobových textů. Pracuje převážně s literaturou politicko-filosofickou. K lepšímu objasnění využívá rovněž odborné sekundární literatury.

Abstract:

This thesis called The Roman Republic and its Institutions introduces the creation of the republic in antique Rome after the expulsion of the last king and subsequent forming of the main political institutions. The thesis aims to describe creation, rise, crisis and subsequent fall of the Roman Republic, which resulted in imperializing it. After summarizing the basic principles of the Roman republic, the thesis focuses on Cicero's political-philosophical ideas that were promoting the Roman mixed constitution in the view of democracy of those times. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the decay of the Roman Republic and conversion to an empire. The thesis is based on a context analysis of period texts and works mainly with literature of the political-philosophical kind. For better clarification, it also utilizes specialized secondary literature.
