The analysis and partial translation of the book "Zwischen Krieg und Frieden" by Hieronymus Oldofredi

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the role of language during the escalation of the Czech-Austrian conflict in South Moravia after the decay of Austria-Hungary and the Czech equivalents selection of German terms, which are burdened with a certain ideology. The theoretical part is based on the Skopos theory. The aim of the practical work is to highlight the various translation options, and develop selected concepts relevant to the translation of selected passages from memoirs Zwischen Krieg und Frieden of German Austrian, Count Hieronymus Oldofrediho, issued in 1925. The research of selected primary literature and German press has been compiled Czech-German glossary of terms, which were difficult to find a Czech equivalent.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá rolí jazyka v době vyhrocení československo-rakouského konfliktu na jižní Moravě po rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska a výběrem českých ekvivalentů německých termínů, které jsou zatížené určitou ideologií. Teoretická část je založena na teorii skoposu. Cílem práce v praktické části je poukázat na různé možnosti překladu vybraných pojmů a vypracovat relevantní překlad zvolených pasáží z memoáru s názvem Zwischen Krieg und Frieden rakouského Němce, hraběte Hieronyma Oldofrediho, vydaného roku 1925. Z rešerše zvolené primární literatury a dostupného dobového německého tisku byl sestaven německo-český glosář s termíny, u kterých bylo obtížné najít český ekvivalent.
