Intertextuality and mythification in Alain Mabanckou's Bleu-Blanc-Rouge and Verre Cassé

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the use of the themes of postmodernism and mystification in the works Bleu-Blanc-Rouge and Verre Cassé by the Congolese author Alain Mabanckou. In the theoretical part, the historical context of the Republic of Congo and the main themes of the négritude movement are briefly introduced. Subsequently, the thesis analyses the definition of the myth, its origin and function. The practical part introduces the content of the books, postmodern features such as metalepsis, intertextuality and identity formation. In the next chapter, we discuss the mystification of various places and persons that appeared in the works.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá otázkou využitia témy postmoderny a mystifikácie v dielach Bleu-Blanc-Rouge a Verre Cassé od konžského autora Alaina Mabanckou. V teoretickej časti je stručne predstavený historický kontext Konžskej republiky a hlavné motívy hnutia négritude. Následne práca rozoberá definíciu mýtu, jeho pôvod a funkciu. V praktickej časti je predstavený obsah kníh, postmoderniské črty ako metalepsa, intertextualita a formovanie identity. V ďalšej kapitole sme sa venovali mystikiácii rôznych miest a osôb, ktoré sa v daných dielach vyskytovali.
