Functional constipation in young women

Abstract:

Funkční obstipace patří mezi závažná onemocnění gastrointestinálního traktu, postihující všechny věkové skupiny obyvatelstva, její výskyt je častější mezi ženami. Dotazníkovým šetřením bylo zjištěno, že mezi oslovenými mladými ženami ve věku 18 až 25 let byl výskyt obstipace okolo 15 %. Byla prokázána souvislost mezi kouřením a obstipací. Statisticky významně vyšší výskyt obstipace byl ve skupině žen, které kouří, než ve skupině žen, které nekouří (bývalé kuřačky a ženy, které nikdy nekouřily). Statisticky významně vyšší výskyt obstipace byl zaznamenán i ve skupině mladých žen, které se nevěnují intenzivní chůzi po většinu dní v týdnu, a u mladých žen, které nekonzumují pravidelně dopolední a odpolední svačinu.

Abstract:

Functional constipation is severe disease of gastrointestinal tract in all age categories, incidence of constipation is more frequent among the women. By questionnaire among young women of age 18 to 25, there was found the incidence of constipation approximately 15 %. There was proved the association between smoking and constipation. Significantly higher incidence of constipation was among smoking women than among no-smoking women (stopped smoking and never smokers). There was proved the association between irregular walking and constipation. Significantly higher incidence of constipation was also among young women, who do not have snack and afternoon tea regularly.
