Tato práce popisuje vývoj postavy upíra v anglicky psané literatuře. V první kapitole své práce jsem se zaměřila především na vysvětlení základních pojmů spojených s tímto tématem. Druhá až pátá kapitola je věnována autorům, kteří jako první postavu upíra zahrnuli do svých děl nebo postavu upíra výrazným způsobem pozměnili.
