Investigative reporting and its difficulty

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o investigativní žurnalistice a jejích úskalích. Vymezuje základní znaky investigativní žurnalistiky, stručně reflektuje nejvýznamnější kauzy ve světové i české historii. Definuje determinanty práce českých investigativních novinářů, které porovnává se stavem v zahraničí. Nabízí tak vysvětlení příčin těchto determinantů a jejich řešení. Poukazuje na specifika České republiky, která ovlivňují stav zdejší investigativní žurnalistiky - především čtyři desetiletí dlouhou vládu komunistického režimu, malou rozlohu státu a s tím související malý mediální trh. Jmenuje také zásadní právní normy, které umožňují, nebo naopak limitují práci investigativních novinářů

Abstract:

My thesis deals with the investigative reporting and its difficulty. It defines the basic characters of investigative reporting, reflect shortly the most considerable cause in a world and Czech history. It defines the determinants of work of the Czech investigative journalists which it compares with situation abroad. So the work affords definition of causation of these determinants and their solutions. It advents to specificity of the Czech republic which influences status local investigative reporting - especially domination of communism lasting four decade, small area of the state and small market. Thesis appoints also the basic rules of law which make possible or limit the work of investigative journalist
