Managing biowastes from households

Abstract:

Problematika plýtvání potravinami je velmi rozsáhlá. Tato práce se primárně zaměřuje na způsoby, jak je eliminovat, případně zcela vyloučit ze směsného komunálního odpadu. Bylo vybráno několik metod pro kompostování především v interiérových podmínkách. Při praktické práce části experimentu byly dostupné metody vyzkoušeny a porovnávaly. Při vermikompostování bylo navíc cílem experimentálně potvrdit, že za určitých podmínek je možné v domácích vermikompostérech využívat Žížaly hnojní, které jsou v našich zeměpisných podmínkách domácí a vyhodnotit podmínky, za kterých by to bylo možné, oproti běžně využívaným Žížalám kalifornským. Teoretická část práce byla zpracována metodou literární rešerše dostupných pramenů literatury, doplněny o další zdroje, jako jsou například magazíny a internetové zdroje. Ty byly doplněny o vlastní pozorování a zkušeností s domácím kompostováním. Praktická část zahrnuje experiment, provedený za kontrolovaných podmínek s cílem ověřit pravdivost hypotézy. Ověření pravdivosti hypotéz proběhlo opakovaným procesem kompostování, kde byly udržovány totožné podmínky. Výsledné produkty byly porovnány. Cílem práce bylo poukázat na rozličné metody kompostování především pro obyvatele měst a dále nastínit metody, jak a v jakých podmínkách s těmito metodami dále pracovat.

Abstract:

The issue of food waste is very extensive. This work primarily focuses on ways to eliminate or completely exclude them from mixed municipal waste. Several methods were selected for composting mainly in indoor conditions. During the practical part of the experiment, the available methods were tested and compared. In vermicomposting, the goal was to experimentally confirm that, under certain conditions, it is possible to use Red Wigglers in home vermicomposters, which are native to our geographical conditions, and to evaluate the conditions under which this would be possible, compared to the commonly used Tiger Worms. The theoretical part of the work was processed using the method of literary research of available sources of literature, supplemented by other sources, such as magazines and internet sources. These were supplemented by own observations and experience with home composting. The practical part includes an experiment, carried out under controlled conditions, with the aim of verifying the truth of the hypothesis. Verification of the truth of the hypotheses took place through a repeated process of composting, where identical conditions were maintained. The resulting products were compared. The goal of the work was to point out the various methods of composting, especially for city dwellers, and to further outline the methods, how and in which conditions to continue working with these methods.
