Abstract:

Hlavným cieľom tejto práce je navrhnúť a implementovať back-end serverovú aplikáciu, ktorá vykonáva skenovanie potenciálnych škodlivých aplikácií a na tento účel využíva skenovaciu službu VirusTotal. Keď klient zašle požiadavku na túto aplikáciu, získa odpoveď obsahujúcu informáciu o tom, ktoré zo zaslaných aplikácií sú podľa výsledkov skenovania služby VirusTotal škodlivé a ktoré nie. Aplikácia je súčasťou knižnice Talsec, ktorá sa zameriava na detekciu malvéru na mobilných zariadeniach a je vyvíjaná spoločnosťou Ahead. Práca taktiež obsahuje charakterizáciu bezpečnostných modelov na platforme Android a opis rizík s nimi spojenými, ktoré demonštrujú potrebu doplnkových služieb detekcie malvéru.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to design and implement a back-end server component that scans hashes of potentially harmful applications using the VirusTotal service. A client can send a request containing a list of application hashes to the component. Subsequently, the client receives information about which applications from the list are malicious and benign according to VirusTotal scanning results. The component is a part of the Talsec malware detection solution developed by the Ahead company. Moreover, the thesis includes a characterisation of Android application security models and their risks to reason the need for additional Android malware detection solutions.
