Assessment of the health status of tree plantations growing outside the forest with different levels of aftercare in the Olomouc Region

Abstract:

Životaschopnost nových výsadeb dřevin, zejména v městském prostředí, je jednou z nejpalčivějších otázek současné arboristiky. Neustálé zásahy člověka do životního prostoru stromu, v kombinaci s rychlou klimatickou změnou způsobují, že mortalita nově vysazených dřevin v posledních letech narůstá a je stále náročnější staré stromy nahrazovat novými. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnotit, jaký vliv mají různé úrovně povýsadbové péče na zdravotní stav, vitalitu a perspektivu u nových výsadeb dřevin rostoucích mimo les. Dílčím cílem je rovněž popsat nejčastější důvody snížení perspektivy vysazených dřevin. Z vyhodnocení dat je zřejmé, že úroveň povýsadbové péče má významný pozitivní vliv na životaschopnost výsadeb.

Abstract:

The viability of new tree plantings, especially in urban environments, is one of the most pressing issues in contemporary arboriculture. Continuous human interference in the tree habitat combined with rapid climate change has caused the mortality of newly planted trees to increase in recent years, making it increasingly difficult to replace old trees with new ones. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess how different levels of post-planting care affect the health, vigour and prospects of new plantations of trees growing outside the forest. A sub-objective is also to describe the most common reasons for reduced prospects of planted tree species. The evaluation of the data shows that the level of post-planting care has a significant positive effect on the viability of plantations
