Using colour overlays for compensation of specifical learning disorders

Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje poznatky o specifických poruchách učení a možnosti jejich zrakové terapie. Hlavní částí práce je studie o vlivu barevných folií na dyslektické děti školního věku. Na příčiny specifických poruch učení se v současnosti pohlíží komplexně a multifaktoriálně, jednou z možností terapie jsou i optické pomůcky. Barevné folie, předložené před čtený text, barevné filtry v brýlích nebo barevné kontaktní čočky mění vlnovou délku, jas, frekvenci a další parametry světla. Vjem z optických pomůcek může být pro zrakový aparát příznivější a nepříjemné potíže se mohou zmírnit. Diplomová práce zaznamenává proces pohybů očí při čtení, přehled specifických poruch učení a možnosti terapie otickými pomůckami zahrnující například Irlen systém barevných folií a filtrů, Harris systém ChromaGen filtrů a další možnosti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis describes knowledge about specific learning disorders and possibility of their visual therapy. The main part includes the study about impact of colour overlays to the dyslectic children of school age. In this time, we regard complexly and multifactorial to the causes of specific learning disorders. Colour overlays, in front of the text, colour filters in the frame or colour contact lenses change wavelength, brightness, frequency and other parameter of light. It could be positive for visual apparatus and can reduce unpleasant visual problems. The thesis notices process of eye movement with optical tools, includes for example famous Irlen system colour overlays and filters, Harris system ChromaGen filters and others.
