The contemporary form of globalization and its social impacts in Czech society (the creation of a textbook for secondary schools)

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je reflexe procesu globalizace a na jejím základě vytvoření učebního textu v rámci předmětu Základy společenských věd. Účelem jednotlivých kapitol je reflektovat vývoj a podobu procesu globalizace do současné podoby, kterou se zabývá odborná teoretická literatura. Důraz je kladen na aktualizaci a kritickou reflexi současného vědění, které akcentuje především vliv na podobu sociálních struktur a jednání globálních aktérů. Výsledkem práce je učební text, který odráží zjištěné skutečnosti o současné podobě globalizace. Ve svém úvodu se tato práce zabývá kategorizací globalizace, přístupy různých disciplín při jejím studiu, vývojem a podobou globalizační diskuse a různé formy její definice. V další části představuji teorie, které nahlížejí globalizaci v oblasti časo-prostorového uspořádání, globalizačních metafor, mocenské a politické asymetrie, otázky kulturní homogenity a heterogenity ve světě, problematiky role národního státu a ekonomických dopadů na sociální strukturu. V následující kapitole představuji kritickou analýzu obsahu dosavadních textů v učebnicích ZSV. V závěrečné části práce prezentuji svůj vlastní učební text o globalizaci, který vychází z předchozího teoretického studia.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is the reflection of the globalization process and on this basis to create scholastic text in the subject of social sciences. The various chapters reflect the evolution of globalization in its current form, which is presented in the academic theoretical literature. Emphasis is placed on actual and critical reflection of current knowledge, which accent mainly influence on the social structures and practices of global actors. The result of this paper is a textbook that reflects the findings of the present form of globalization. The introduction of this paper presents the categorization of globalization approaches of various disciplines, development and form of globalization debates and various forms of its definition. The next section presents a theories, which view globalization in the time-space arrangement, the metaphors of globalization, power and political asymmetry, the problems of cultural homogeneity and heterogeneity in the global world, the issue of the role of the nation state and the economic impact of globalization on the social structure. The next chapter presents a critical analysis of the content in current scholastic texts in social science textbooks.. In the final part I present my own teaching text on globalization, which is based on previous theoretical studies.
