Memory Traces and Their Relevance Under the Influence of Stress

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci se věnuji tématu paměťových stop. Cílem mé práce je vyhodnotit, podle dostupných kauz a experimentů, vliv stresové situace na paměťové stopy lidí. Zdali okamžitý stres zvyšuje nebo snižuje schopnost člověka zapamatovat si detaily určité situace. Zamyšlení nad významem a využitím paměťových stop ve vědomí člověka v průběhu objasňování kriminalisticky relevantních událostí v souvislosti s výpovědí. Metodami, které jsem si zvolila pro vypracování bakalářské práce, jsou především psychologické experimenty. V prvních kapitolách je pojednáváno o paměťových stopách v kriminalistice, o paměti- zapamatování, vybavování a zapomínání, o paměťových stopách ve forenzních disciplínách. Následuje kapitola, která se věnuje stresu a jeho projevům. Další část je věnována psychologii výpovědi a faktorům ovlivňujícím získávání paměťových stop. Praktická část obsahuje popis uskutečněných experimentů a reálné kazuistiky.

Abstract:

I deal with the topic of memory tracks in my bachelor thesis. The aim of my work is to evaluate, according to available cases and experiments, an influence of stress situation on people's memory footprints. Whether immediate stress increases or decreases a person's ability to remember details of a particular situation. I focus on the importance and the use of memory traces in human consciousness during the explanation of criminologically relevant events in connection with thetestimony. The methods that I chose for elaborating my bachelor thesis are mainly psychological experiments. I also interviewed about real cases with the profesionals - who come into contact with stressful situations as well as with the uitilization of memory foot prints – they are the police and the firefighters. The first chapters deal with memory traces in forensic science, memory-memorization, recall and forgetting, memory traces in forensic disciplines. The following chapter is devoted to stress and its symptoms.The next part is dedicated to the psychology of testimony and to the factors that may influence the acquisition of memory traces. Subsequently, I mention post-traumatic stress disorder as a consequence of experienced stress. The practical part contains description of experiments that were carried out; it contains also reports from the real cases.
