Circulating tumor cells - biomarker of selected adenocarinomas

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na cirkulující nádorové buňky (CTCs) a jejich výskyt u pacientů s adenokarcinomy prsu, prostaty, plic a kolorektálním karcinomem. V první kapitole této práce je stručně popsána nádorová buňka a její vznik. Další kapitola se zabývá CTCs, jejich vznikem a původem v lidském těle. Následuje kapitola o komerčním přístroji CELLSEARCH CTC System, který umožňuje stanovit počet CTCs v periferní krvi pacientů. Největší část této práce je věnována adenokarcinomům, jejich charakterizaci a také studiím, které se zabývají klinickým významem CTCs jako vhodného biomarkeru u onkologických pacientů z hlediska diagnostiky, prognózy pacientů, jejich odpovídavosti na zvolenou terapii.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and their occurrence in patients with adenocarcinomas of the breast, prostate, lung and colorectal cancer. The first chapter describes briefly a cancer cell and its creation. Another chapter deals with CTCs, their formation and origin in the human body. The commercial device CELLSEARCH CTC System that allows to determine number of CTCs in peripheral blood of patiens is presented in the following chapter. The main part of this thesis aims attention to adenocarcinomas, their characterization and studies that concern the clinical significance of CTCs as a useful biomarker of cancer patients in terms of their diagnosis, prognosis and response to the chosen therapy.
