Opinions of youth on gender roles of women (regarding folklore)

Abstract:

Předmětem práce jsou genderové role ženy, a to se zaměřením na lidovou kulturu Moravského Slovácka. V teoretické části práce jsou vymezeny základní pojmy týkající se lidové kultury a specifik daného etnografického regionu. Také jsou zde popsány některé genderové role ženy a stručně rozebrána problematika genderu. Jsou zde rovněž prezentovány výsledky výzkumu, v němž byly zjišťovány názory ?chasy? Dolních Bojanovic na genderové role ženy. Byly zkoumány názory na role matky, dcery, manželky, milenky a přítelkyně. U všech rolí se objevila odlišná očekávání podle pohlavní příslušnosti. Nejmenší rozdíly byly zjištěny v roli přítelkyně, naopak role milenky je danou skupinou vnímána jako nejvíce genderově specifická. V práci je také popsáno, jaké je pojetí feminity a maskulinity u respondentů, z něhož je usuzováno na možné názorové podobnosti s populací jedinců aktivních ve folkloru také v jiných vesnicích daného regionu.

Abstract:

The subject of my thesis is a gender role of a woman within the folklore of Moravian Slovakia. In the theoretical part of this work, I define the basic concepts of the folklore and particularities of this ethnographic region. I also describe some of the women?s gender roles and briefly analyse problems of gender. In my work, I present the results of my research of women?s gender roles of ?chasa? from the village of Dolní Bojanovice. ?Chasa? is a group of young unmarried people (adolescents and young adults) who actively participate in the village?s folklore. Their opinions on a gender role of a mother, a daughter, a wife, a lover and a girlfriend were analysed and put to contrast with traditional men?s gender roles. In all cases, the expectations of each role differed. The least differences between the roles were in the case a girlfriend, on the contrary, the role of a lover was the most gender specific. There is also described the respondents? perception of femininity and masculinity which is considered to be similar to population of young active folklore participants of other villages in the region of Moravian Slovakia.
