Solved Problems from Graph Theory - Matching, Eulerian Trails, Hamiltonian Paths and Cycles

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vytvořit soubor řešených úloh z teorie grafů a poskytnout studentům matematiky doplňující studijní materiál k již existujícím zdrojům. Na příkladech jsou ilustrovány úlohy z oblasti párování v grafech, hledání eulerovských tahů a hamiltonovských cest a kružnic. Práce obsahuje stručný popis úloh a vysvětlení použitých algoritmů. Z oblasti párování je zpracován problém hledání maximálního párování v bipartitních grafech a řešení přiřazovací úlohy pomocí maďarského algoritmu. Dále práce obsahuje příklady na hledání eulerovských tahů a řešení úlohy čínského pošťáka. Úlohy na hledání nejlevnější hamiltonovské cesty a kružnice jsou řešeny pomocí zakazování hran, u kružnice dále využíváme penalizaci vrcholů.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a set of solved problems from graph theory and to provide students of mathematics additional study material to existing resources. The examples illustrate problems of matching in graphs, searching for Eulerian trails and Hamiltonian paths and cycles. The thesis contains a brief description of tasks and explanation of used algorithms. In the field of matching is processed the problem of finding a maximum bipartite matching and solution of the assignment problem using the Hungarian algorithm. Furthermore, the work contains examples for finding Eulerian trails and solving the Chinese postman problem. Tasks for finding the cheapest Hamiltonian path and cycle are solved by prohibiting edges, we also use penalizing vertices for the cycle.
