Social services for families neglecting care of their children

Abstract:

Cílem mojí práce bylo zmapovat sociální služby pro rodiny zanedbávající péči o děti a určit, které jsou pro ně vhodné. Snažila jsem se zjistit, jak pracovníci OSPOD s rodinami zanedbávajícími péči o děti pracují, jaké služby jim poskytují, jak vyhodnocují životní situaci dítěte a přispívají k celkovému sociálnímu fungování těchto rodin. V teoretické části popisuji životní situaci rodin zanedbávajících péči o děti, jejich funkce, potřeby, dále se zabývám syndromem CAN, sociálně-právní ochranou a sociálními službami pro tyto rodiny. Stanovila jsem si následující hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Které sociální služby poskytované rodinám zanedbávajícím péči o děti, jsou pro ně přínosné z pohledu pracovníků OSPOD? Empirická část je zaměřena kvalitativně. Veškerá data jsou získána pomocí strukturovaného rozhovoru s otevřenými otázkami se sociálními pracovníky Oddělení péče o rodinu a děti. Základní zjištění v přínosu sociálních služeb pro rodiny zanedbávající péči o děti spočívá v tom, že jsou zapotřebí služby jako asistence do rodin, sociální bydlení, vzdělávání rodičů v rámci zvyšování rodičovských kompetencí a větší provázanost a spolupráce jednotlivých služeb.

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is to map social services for families neglecting care of their children and to determine which services are the most appropriate for them. I tried to find out how social workers from the authorities providing social and legal protection to children work with these families, what services they provide, how they evaluate the situation of the child and how they contribute to the overall social functioning of these families. The theoretical part describes the situation of families neglecting care of the children, their features and needs. It also deals with the CAN syndrome, social and legal protection and social services for these families. I determined the following main research question: “Which social services given to the families neglecting childcare are beneficial for them from the point of view of the authorities providing social and legal protection to children and their staff? The empirical part focuses on the quality. All data were obtained from structured interviews containing open questions with social workers from the department for social welfare of families and children. The investigation of the benefits of social services for these families neglecting care of the children revealed that the most important services for these families are assistance to families, social housing, parents’ education in improving parenting skills and greater cooperation and coherence of individual services.
