Optimization of IT Department Processes in a Selected Hospital

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na analýzu a optimalizaci vybraných procesů IT oddělení konkrétní nemocnice. Hlavním cílem práce je analýza procesů IT oddělení NEMOCNICE, návrh optimalizací a doporučení pro zvýšení efektivity. První část práce je zaměřená na aktuální situaci IT ve zdravotnictví. Je v ní rozebrán aktuální stav spolu s trendy a probíhajícími či plánovanými projekty. Následující druhá část charakterizuje IT oddělení konkrétní nemocnice. Zaměřuje se na jeho strukturu, činnosti, zaměstnance a používaný IS. Třetí a čtvrtá část tvoří primární část bakalářské práce. Ve třetí části je za pomoci EPC diagramů, VAC a procesní analýzy zkoumána oblast procesů školení, která byla shledána jako nejproblematičtější. Následující čtvrtá část vychází z těchto poznatků a snaží se navrhnout optimalizace a zefektivňující řešení nalezených problémů. Poslední, pátá, část práce obsahuje validace návrhu z předchozí části, a to způsobem představení návrhu správci IT a vybranému doktorovi analyzované nemocnice. Tato představuje jejich názory na návrh a finální zhodnocení návrhu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis and optimization of selected processes of the IT department of a particular hospital. The main goal is to analyse processes of the IT department and propose some optimizations and recommendations to increase its efficiency. The first part of the work is focused on the current state of IT in healthcare, and it discusses the current state along with trends and ongoing or planned projects. The following second part characterizes the IT department of a specific hospital. It focuses on its structure, activities, employees, and IS. The third and fourth part form the primary part of the bachelor thesis. In the third part, EPC diagrams, VAC and process analysis are used to describe and analyse the IT department’s problematic areas and processes. The following fourth part builds on the last part’s findings and tries to propose optimizations and streamlining solutions to the problems found. In the last, fifth, part of the work, the proposed solutions are validated. Validation is performed by the IT administrator of the analysed hospital and by one doctor. This section contains their views on the proposal and the final evaluation of the proposal.
