Práca oboznamuje čitateľa so základmi VoIP. V práci sú spomenuté dva najčastejšie používané signalizačné protokoly SIP a H.323, primárne je však orientovaná na SIP. Práca ďalej popisuje potencionálne bezpečnostné hrozby spojené s VoIP a jednotlivé spôsoby zabezpečenia hlavne v spojení so SIP.
