Time-space analysis of accumulation forms in a meandering reach of the Odra

Abstract:

Ve své práci se zabývám jak změnami ve velikosti a umístění akumulačních forem, tak i změnami trasy koryta spolu s dynamikou vývoje a zániku vegetace v meandrujícím úseku řeky Odry. Jako hlavním bodem se zabývám analýzou leteckých snímků za období let 2000-2020. Letecké snímkování neprobíhalo každý rok, proto není časová řada souvislá a snímky byly k dispozici každé tři roky a od roku 2012 každé dva roky. Celkem je let, ze kterých používám snímky, devět a vytvořil jsem jejich kompozici pro každý z jednotlivých deseti úseků, na které jsem rozdělil zkoumaný úsek. U těchto kompozic následně hodnotím nejvýraznější změny v průběhu let, zabývám se také vegetací a jejím výskytem, přeplavováním a vznikem či zánikem lavic. Dále jsem pomocí dat od ČHMÚ zjistil průtoky v měřící stanici Svinov pro řeku Odru za jednotlivé dny, kdy probíhalo letecké snímkování oblasti. Porovnal jsem průměrné měsíční průtoky a zhodnotil jsem jejich vliv na jednotlivé úseky v průběhu zjišťovaného období. Pomocí záznamů o povodňových událostech, kterých zde bylo ve zjišťovaném období celkem osm jsem byl schopen vztáhnout některé výrazné změny k působení vlivu průtoku. Pomocí programu ArcGIS PRO jsem označil lavice polygony a porovnal jejich plochy v grafech 1, 2, 3 a 4 pro lavice s vegetací a bez ní. Rovněž jsem vytvořil liniovou vrstvu, která kopíruje levý a pravý břeh v jednotlivých letech, na grafu 3 tak je vidět, jak břehy v průběhu let měnily svou délku. Z výsledků je patrné, že největší vliv na velikost, typ a umístění lavic v rámci koryta mají především vysoké průtoky a povodňové události. Na to navazuje zjištění, že nejvýraznějšími změnami bylo protržení meandrových šíjí v 7. a 9. úseku mezi lety 2009 a 2012. Předcházela tomu povodeň, která tyto změny s největší pravděpodobností zapříčinila nebo urychlila. Také byl pozorován účinek vegetace na akumulační formy jako stabilizační prvek, který výrazně snižuje možnost přeplavení nebo zánik lavic. Délka břehů se zvětšuje s tím, jak silně působí boční eroze do doby, kdy se meandrová šíje natolik přiškrtí nebo jí dopomůže vysoký průtok a poté dojde k protržení šíje a tím pádem ke zkrácení trasy.

Abstract:

In my work, I deal with changes in the size and location of accumulation forms, as well as changes in the route of the riverbed together with the dynamics of development and extinction of vegetation in the meandering section of the river Odra. As the main point, I deal with the analysis of aerial photographs of the period 2000-2020. Aerial photography did not take place every year, so the time series is not continuous and the images have been available every three years and since 2012 every two years. In total, the number of years from which I use the images is nine and I created their composition for each of the individual ten sections, into which I divided the examined section of the river. I then evaluate the most significant changes over the years on these compositions, I also deal with vegetation and its occurrence, flooding and the emergence or extinction of bars. Furthermore, I used data from the CHMI to find out the flows in the measuring station Svinov for the river Odra for individual days when aerial photography of the area took place. I compared the average monthly flows and evaluated their effect on individual sections during the survey period. Using records of flood events, eight in total, in the period under review, I was able to relate some significant changes to the effect of flow. Using ArcGIS PRO, I marked the bars with polygons and compared their areas in graphs 1, 2, 3 and 4 for bars with and without vegetation. I also created a line layer that copies the left and right bank in each year, so graph 3 shows how the banks have changed their length over the years. The results show that the greatest influence on the size, type and location of bars within the riverbed have mainly high flows and flood events. This is followed by the finding that the most significant changes were the cutoffs of the meanders in the 7th and 9th sections between 2009 and 2012. This was preceded by a flood which most likely caused or accelerated these changes. The effect of vegetation on accumulation forms was also observed as a stabilizing element, which significantly reduces the possibility of flooding or extinction of bars. The length of the banks increases as side erosion is getting more severe until the meanders are constricted or assisted by high flow and then the meander cuts off, shortening the route.
