Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je porovnání dvou sad učebnic angličtiny, CompleteAdvanced Second editiona AdvancedResult, které sestávají z Workbook, Student’sBooka Teacher’sBook. Cílem práce je zjistit, která ze sad učebnic připraví studenty lépe ke složení části Writing cambridgeské zkoušky C1 Advanced a současně poskytne větší oporu českému učiteli kurzu, který není rodilým mluvčím angličtiny. Výzkumný vzorek je zkoumán metodou evaluačního výzkumu. Teoretická část práce se zabývá: a) současným přístupem k výuce psaní jako rozvoji specifické řečové dovednosti, b) testováním řečové dovednosti psaní v cizím jazyce, c) hodnotícími kritérii zkoušky psaní C1 Advanced. V praktické části práce jsou knihy analyzovány z hlediska přehlednosti a obsahové správnosti dle stanovených kritérií. Efektivita učebnic je v závěru práce vyhodnocena pomocí bodového hodnocení dle hodnotící škály. Výstupem práce je doporučení sady učebnic Complete Advanced Second edition.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of two sets of English coursebooks, Complete Advanced Second edition and Advanced Result, each consisting of a Workbook, a Student’s Book and a Teacher’s Book. The aim of the thesis is to define which of these sets of coursebooks could prepare students better for passing the Cambridge exam C1 Advanced Writing paper and provide at the same time a better support for a Czech teacher of the course, who is not a native English speaker. The research sample is examined by the method of evaluation research. The theoretical part presents: a) the current approach to teach writing as the development of specific language skills, b) the testing of language skills of writing in a foreign language, c) the assessment criteria of the C1 Advanced Writing paper. In the practical part of the work, the books are analysed in terms of clarity and content accuracy according to the set criteria. At the end of the work, the effectiveness of textbooks is scored based on a mark scheme. The output of this work is the recommendation of Complete Advanced Second edition coursebooks.
