Needs of Children with Oncological Diseases

Abstract:

Cíl: Zjistit, k jakým dochází změnám v uspokojování potřeb onkologicky nemocných dětí. Metodika: Průzkum byl proveden kvalitativní metodou, která pracuje s malým počtem respondentů. Metodou sběru dat pomocí strukturovaného rozhovoru s onkologicky nemocnými dětmi na Hemato - onkologickém oddělení Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc. Rozhovor poskytlo sedm nemocných dětí. Odpovědí tázaných dětí byly sepsány do kategorií a podkategorií. Výsledky: Průzkumným šetřením bylo zjištěno, že každé dotazované dítě trpělo určitými typickými příznaky, které se při léčbě onkologického onemocnění vyskytují. I přes to, že je onkologické onemocnění velice závažné a ve velké míře omezuje kvalitu života dítěte i jeho blízkých, se respondenti zdáli spokojení a se svou léčbou smíření. Z oblastí, které byly stanoveny, byla nejvíce zasažena oblast biologických potřeb v rámci léčby. Největší změny se vyskytly v potřebách výživy a odpočinku. Chemoterapeutická a radiační léčba u většiny dotazovaných dětí způsobila nechutenství s následným zvracením a zvýšenou únavu organismu. Závěr: I přes to, že onkologická onemocnění v dětském věku představují druhou nejčastější příčinu úmrtí, se počty vyléčených dětí stále zvyšují. Léčba onkologických onemocnění je provázena velkou řadou vedlejších nežádoucích účinků, které ve velké míře ovlivňují život a potřeby nemocného dítěte a mimo jiné i všech jeho blízkých. Potřeby těchto dětí si musí uvědomit jak rodiče, tak i personál a podle toho se k nemocnému stavět a snažit se jeho potřeby uspokojovat.

Abstract:

Objective: The goal was identify any changes in satisfying needs of children with oncological disease. Methodology: The surey was effected by qualitative method which works with a small number of respondents. Data collection method using a structured interview with oncology sick children at the Haematology - Oncology Department of the University Hospital. The interview gave seven sick children. The answer of children was drafted into categories and subcategories. Results: In a survey it was found that every interviewed child suffered some typical signs that the treatment of oncological diseases occur. Despite the fact that oncological illness is very serious and largely reduces the life quality of the child and his relatives, respondents seemed satisfied with their treatment and reconciliation. From the areas which were specified, the most affected was the area of biological needs in terms of treatment. The biggest changes occurred in the needs of nutrition and rest. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy cause loss of appetite, followed by vomiting and fatigue of organism for the majority of surveyed chilrden. Conclusion: Despite the fact that oncological diseases in childhood are the second leading cause of death, the counts of cured children are increasing. The treatment of oncological diseases is accompanied by a large variety of side effects, which largely affect the lives and needs of the sick child and, among other things, all his relatives. Parents and staff must to realize these children Leeds any try to satisfly them.
