Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je identifikovat a zhodnotit dopady Britské koloniální správy na území dnešní Ugandy. Práce je logisky strukturovaná do pěti kapitol, které obsahují informace týkající se historie nebo administrativy Ugandy. Zbylé kapitoly pak hodnotí dopady britské vlády na sociální a ekonomický rozvoj. Závěr je věnován výsledkům vlivů, které působily na její území a obyvatele. Celkové poznatky naznačují, že i přes určité pozitivní dopady britské koloniální vlády jako například představení nových metod v technologii, zemědělství nebo příznivého vývoje ve vzdělání, těžba surovin z Protektorátu a snaha o vymazání tradičních hodnot Uganďanů rozbila tehdejší společnost podřízenou režimu. Bakalářská práce je realizována prostřednictvím syntézy a analýzy informací získaných studiem především odborných článků a historických knih, ale také oficiálních dokumentů a statistik z koloniální éry.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify and assess the impacts of the British colonial rule on the territory of today's Uganda. The thesis is logically structured into five chapters which obtain information about historical background or administration of Uganda and continues to evaluate the consequences of British rule on social and economic development. The conclusion then deliberates on the matter of the outcome of the effects that have influenced its territory and inhabitants. The findings of the subject suggest that, even though British colonial rule introduced new methods in technology, agriculture, or favourable development in education, exploitation of raw materials from Uganda Protectorate and the effort to erase the traditional values of Ugandans broke the society into subjects of their regime. The bachelor thesis is carried out through synthesis and analysis of information obtained by studying mainly academic articles and history books but also official documents and statistics from the colonial era.
