Práce zkoumá stupeň podobnosti vývoje hospodářských cyklů nových členských států Evropské unie a eurozóny. Tato sladěnost je nezbytnou podmínkou pro bezproblémové fungování měnové unie. V práci je použito několik analýz -- korelace prostých časových řad i řad různě detrendovaných, korelace zpožděných hodnot a především pak korelace funkcí odezvy a dekompozice rozptylu chyb předpovědí. The paper examines the degree of convergence between the business cycles of the new EU member states and eurozone. This convergence is a necessary condition for a troublefree operation of a monetary union.
