Improvisation through three forms or three forms through improvisation

Abstract:

Na následujících stránkách prozkoumávám stav Nevím, kterým začíná každá improvizace, a to především na svých zkušenostech. K jeho dalším analýzám se dostávám skrze koncept hráče. Mé poznatky jsou doplněny výroky a zkušenostmi mých spolužáků z DAMU, spoluhráčů a poznatky z vybrané literatury zaměřující se na divadelní improvizaci. V další, výzkumné části vám zprostředkovávám rozhovor s hudebníkem Petrem Vrbou, který mě zasvětil do specifik volné hudební improvizace. Následně, na základě rozhovoru s tanečnicí a choreografkou Dorou Sulženko Hoštovou, rozebírám, jak funguje improvizace či stav Nevím v tanci. V závěru této práce se pokouším shrnout všechny poznatky a vzájemně je porovnat s ohledem na jednotlivé disciplíny (herectví, tanec a hudba).Ke konci bychom tedy mohli vědět o něco více, anebo naopak o mnohem méně. Co vím alespoň v tuto chvíli, je, že bez toho slova na I to zkrátka nelze. S jistotou také mohu říci, že toto mé tvrzení pramení právě z mého momentálního Nevím.

Abstract:

On the following pages I am going to explore the state of Not-knowing which every piece of improvisation starts with, primarily on my own experience. I am going to proceed with analyses through the concept of player. My reflections are supported by statements and experiences of my DAMU classmates, team players and selected literature focusing on theater improvisation. In the next, exploratory part, I provide you with an interview with a musician Petr Vrba who introduced us to the specifics of free music improvisation. Then I analyze how the state of Not-knowing works in dance based on an interview with a dancer and choreographer Dora Sulženko Hoštová. In the end I summarize all the findings and compare each other with respect to the three disciplines (acting, dance and music).All in all, we could perhaps know more – or less, contrarily.What I do know at least now is that without the I word it is impossible to proceed. But I can say for sure that this claim of mine comes from the current “I don’t know”.
