Social aspects of sustainable packaging design

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou sociálních a enviromentálních aspektů udržitelných obalů. Nejdříve jsou v práci na základě literární rešerše vymezeny základní pojmy jako udržitelný rozvoj, udržitelné obaly a také sociální a environmentální aspekty udržitelných obalů. Následně práce shrnuje současný stav teoretického poznání v oblastech sociálních a environmentálních aspektů obalů včetně způsobu jejich vnímání spotřebitelem. Navazující část práce prezentuje výsledky primárního kvantitativního výzkumu mezi českými spotřebiteli se zaměřením na poznání míry důležitosti sociálních a environmentálních aspektů obalů pro rychloobrátkové zboží. Součástí výzkumu je také zkoumání rozdílů ve vnímané důležitosti jednotlivých aspektů mezi sebou i v závislosti na demografických charakteristikách spotřebitelů a druhu rychloobrátkového zboží. Zjištěné výsledky výzkumu rozšiřují současné poznání zejména ve vnímané důležitosti sociálních aspektů obalu a mohou průmyslovým podnikům pomoci při tvorbě vhodných strategií v oblasti udržitelných inovací obalů na spotřebních trzích.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the social and environmental aspects of sustainable packaging. Initially, the thesis defines key terms such as sustainable development, sustainable packaging, and the social and environmental aspects of sustainable packaging based on a literature review. The work then summarizes the current state of theoretical knowledge in the areas of social and environmental aspects of packaging, including how they are perceived by consumers. The subsequent section presents the results of primary quantitative research among Czech consumers, with an emphasis on understanding the perceived importance of social and environmental aspects of packaging for fast-moving consumer goods. The research also examines differences in the perceived importance of individual aspects, considering both demographic characteristics of consumers and types of fast-moving consumer goods. The findings expand current knowledge, particularly regarding the perceived importance of the social aspects of packaging, and may assist industrial companies in creating effective strategies for sustainable packaging innovations in consumer markets.
