The Influence of Special Rehabilitation Program on Fatigue and Heart Rate in Patients after COVID-19

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem ambulantního speciálního skupinového rehabilitačního programu na únavu a tepovou frekvenci u pacientů po prodělaném onemocnění COVID-19, probíhajícího ve Fakultní nemocnici u sv. Anny v Brně. Studie hodnotí únavu před a po absolvování speciálního rehabilitačního programu pomocí standardizovaného dotazníku MAFS a tepovou frekvenci před začátkem a v průběhu terapie po posturálním cvičení při první a poslední terapii, prostřednictvím pulzního prstového oxymetru. Původní výzkumný soubor se skládal z 36 pacientů, který byl podle vyřazujících kritérií pro konkrétní hypotézy následně redukován. Výsledky diplomové práce ukazují, že absolvování speciálního rehabilitačního programu má statisticky prokázaný pozitivní vliv na snížení únavy, zatímco absolvování speciálního rehabilitačního programu nemá statisticky významný vliv na tepovou frekvenci před začátkem terapie, ani v průběhu po posturálním cvičení. Z výsledků vyplývá, že souvislost mezi únavou a změnou tepové frekvence není statisticky významná, zatím co korelace mezi únavou a počtem přetrvávajících symptomů je zřejmá. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že v případě přetrvávajících potíží, obzvláště únavy, po onemocnění COVID-19 je vhodná skupinová rehabilitace, po dobu čtyř týdnů, která může pomoci tyto symptomy eliminovat a zlepšit tak kvalitu života.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of a outpatient special rehabilitation program on fatigue and heart rate in patients after COVID-19, which takes place at the University Hospital at St. Anny in Brno. The study evaluates fatigue before and after completing the special rehabilitation program using a standardized MAFS questionnaire and heart rate before and during therapy after postural exercise during the first and last therapy, using a pulse finger oximeter. The original research group consisted of 36 patients, which was subsequently reduced to according to the exclusion criteria for specific hypotheses. The results of the diploma thesis show that completing a special rehabilitation program has a statistically proven positive effect on reducing fatigue, while completing a special rehabilitation program has no statistically significant effect on heart rate before the start of therapy or during postural exercise. The results show that the relationship between fatigue and change in heart rate is not statistically significant, while the correlation between fatigue and the number of persistent symptoms is obvious. The results show that in case of persistent problems, especially fatigue, after COVID-19 group rehabilitation is appropriate for four weeks, which can help eliminate these symptoms and thus improve the quality of life.
