EU accession of Western Balkans - comparative analysis

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Přístup zemí západního Balkánu k evropské integraci -- komparativní analýza" se zabývá srovnáním zemí západního Balkánu z hlediska možného přístupu do Evropské unie. Jednotlivé části pojednávají o ekonomické a politické integraci těchto zemí. V kapitole o ekonomické integraci jsou země porovnány dle ukazatele HDP, plnění kodaňského ekonomického kritéria či je charakterizován region západního Balkánu dle obchodních vazeb států na EU. V části o politické integraci je představena historie vztahů západobalkánských zemí a EU, plnění kodaňského politického kritéria a v závěru perspektivy členství těchto zemí.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis "EU accession of Western Balkans - comparative analysis" deals with a comparison of Western Balkans in terms for possible accession to the EU. Individual chapters are devoted to the economic and political integration of these countries. In the chapter on economic integration, countries are compared according to the indicator of GDP, fulfilling the Copenhagen economic criteria and Western Balkans region is characterized by commercial ties with the EU states. In the section on political integration is introduced the history of Western Balkans and EU relations, fulfilling the Copenhagen political criteria and in final part are presented the perspectives of membership of these countries.
