Routing in Computer Networks

Abstract:

Our bachelor’s thesis deals with the problems of routing in computer networks and its application for the requirements of a small business. The goal of the thesis was to analyze routing protocols and possibilities of securing access to/from the network with respect to the requirements of small businesses. The bachelor’s thesis deals with the importance of routing and routing protocols in computer networks. We have focused close attention in the thesis on static routing, internal routing protocols and possibilities of securing them. We have demonstrated the problems of routing in computer networks in our case study dealing with a particular requirement of a firm to implement and secure computer network. In this case study, we have proposed and justified logically access rules among various parts of Intranet. In conclusion, we have created and subsequently verified in a simulation tool the configuration of devices creating the infrastructure of network design. We have applied Cisco Packet Tracer 4.2 by Cisco Systems, Inc. as the simulation tool.

Abstract:

V bakalárskej práci sme sa venovali problematike smerovania v počítačových sieťach a jeho využitia pre potreby menšej firmy. Cieľom práce bolo analyzovať smerovacie protokoly a možnosti zabezpečenia prístupu do/zo siete s ohľadom na potreby menších firiem. Bakalárska práca pojednáva o význame smerovania a smerovacích protokolov v počítačových sieťach. V práci sme sa bližšie zamerali na statické smerovanie, vnútorné smerovacie protokoly a možnosti ich zabezpečenia. Problematiku smerovania v počítačových sieťach sme demonštrovali na prípadovej štúdií, ktorá sa venuje konkrétnej požiadavke firmy na zriadenie a zabezpečenie počítačovej siete. V tejto prípadovej štúdií sme navrhli a logicky zdôvodnili pravidlá prístupu medzi jednotlivými súčasťami intranetu. Na záver sme v simulačnom prostriedku vytvorili a následne overili konfiguráciu zariadení tvoriacich infraštruktúru navrhnutej siete. Ako simulačný prostriedok sme použili Cisco Packet Tracer 4.2 od spoločnosti Cisco Systems, Inc.
