Cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza otázek pohlaví a rasy v díle Zory Neale Hurstonové. V úvodních kapitolách jsou definovány teorie pohlaví a rasy a také popis afroamerické angličtiny. Dále je v práci nastíněno sociální pozadí prvních desetiletí dvacátého století v dílech afroamerických spisovatelů a je podán krátký popis Harlemské renesance. Abstract:
The overall aim of this bachelor paper is to analyze gender and race issues in Zora Neale Hurston?s work. In the first chapters the theories of gender and race as well as the description of Black English are defined. Next, the social background of the first decades of the twentieth century is outlined in the works of Afro-American writers, and a brief description of the Harlem Renaissance is made. …more
