The Detective in Love in Pierre Lemaitre's Novels

Abstract:

The thesis "L’enquêteur amoureux de Pierre Lemaitre" deals with the analysis of the literary character of the enamoured detective Camille Verhœven in two thrillers, "Travail soigné" and "Sacrifices", written by Pierre Lemaitre, a contemporary French author. The goal of the analysis is the examination of the character from the perspective of a detective novel and the determination of his role as an actant. The theoretical part of the thesis centers on the explanation of the key term „detective novel“: it deals with the evolution of this literary genre and the definition of the „roman à suspense“ and of thrillers. It also contains the examination of the typical features and elements which constitute the detectives and the victimes. The analytic part centers at first on the analysis of plotlines and then on the analysis of the caracter of Camille Verhœven.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "L’enquêteur amoureux de Pierre Lemaitre" se zabývá analýzou literární postavy zamilovaného vyšetřovatele Camilla Verhœvena ve dvou thrillerech současného francouzského spisovatele Pierra Lemaitra ("Travail soigné" a "Sacrifices"). Cílem analýzy je zkoumání postavy z hlediska detektivního románu a určení její role coby aktantu. Teoretická část práce se věnuje vysvětlení klíčového pojmu detektivní román, zabývá se vývojem tohoto literárního žánru, jakožto i definicí „roman à suspense“ a thrilleru, dále pak rozebírá charakteristické prvky vyšetřovatele a oběti. Analytická část se nejprve zaměřuje na rozbor zápletek, poté se věnuje analýze postavy Camilla Verhœvena.
