Eucharistic controversy in the carolingian era

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je karolinský spor o eucharistii, který se odehrával v druhé polovině 9. století. Spor se rozhořel na základě dvou spisů nesoucí stejný název ? De corpore et sanguine Domini, jejichž autory byli Paschasius Radbertus a Ratramnus z Corbie. Základním rysem sporu je debata o Kristově přítomnosti v eucharistii. Paschasius byl zastáncem reálné přítomnosti, kdežto Ratramnus duchovní.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the carolingian eucharistic controversy. The eucharistic controversy took place in the 9th century A. D. and its sources are in the two early medieval writings, which have the same name ? De corpore et sanguine Domini. The authors of these writings were Paschasius Radbertus and Ratramnus of Corbie. The characteristic feature of this controversy is the debate about the presence of Christ in the eucharist. Paschasius held the realistic view of the presence of Jesus in this sacrifice, while his opponent Ratramnus held the spiritual veiw.
