V důsledku postmoderní decentralizace myšlení dochází k roztříštění monolitického dějinného vývoje a společně s tím i k uznání periferních proudů uměleckého vývoje. V Čechách tak v polovině osmdesátých let vznikají dvě paralelní regionální umělecké scény v Ostravě a Ústí nad Labem, které se vyznačují jiným přístupem k tradičním uměleckým strategiím. As a result of the postmodern decentralization of thinking, the monolithic historical development is undermined and together with it the peripheral streams of artistic development are accepted.
