Workplace learning according to company size

Abstract:

Tématem mé diplomová práce je „Učení na pracovišti dle velikosti podniku“ se zaměřením na IT pracovníky. Tato práce se zabývá zjištěním zda má velikost podniku v podobě počtu zaměstnanců vliv na učení na pracoviště. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje nejprve celoživotnímu učení dále neformálnímu a profesnímu vzdělávání. Stěžejní část se věnuje učení na pracovišti a jeho teorii. Zde jsou také popsány důležité pojmy jako jsou pracoviště, učení, velikost pracoviště či specifika IT pracovníků. Poslední kapitola se věnuje firemní kultuře jako podstatné součásti učení na pracovišti. Empirická část nejprve představuje metodologii realizovaného výzkumu. Další kapitoly empirické části se věnují analýze získaných dat, nejprve popisem souhrnných indexů vytvořených s pomocí faktorové analýzy a následně testováním hypotéz. Pomocí získaných dat se podařilo zjistit značné rozdíly v učení na pracovišti dle velikosti podniku.

Abstract:

The subject of my diploma thesis is „Workplace learning according to company size“ and is focused on IT workers. This thesis focuses on finding out if workplace learning is affected by company size based on number of employees. It is divided into two parts – theroretical part and empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the concept of lifelong learning, informal and vocational learning. Main part of it is focused on workplace learning and its concepts. Main constructs like workplace, learning, company size and specifics of IT workers are also described in this part. Last section of first part describes company culture as a substantial part of workplace learning. The empirical part of the thesis starts with describing the metodology used for the conducted survey. Next chapters of this part focus on analysis of acquired survey data starting with cumulative indexex created using factor analysis and continuing onto testing of created hypotheses. Using the acquired data and analysis I was able to identify significant differences in workplace learning according to company size.
