Intermarriages and Prohibitive Impediments in the Parish Dašice in 19th Century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výzkum četnosti smíšených sňatků a dalších manželských překážek ve farnosti Dašice v 19. století. Práce analyzuje sňatečnost s využitím metody anonymní excerpce dat ze snubních protokolů. Získané údaje byly porovnávány s údaji zjištěnými v českých zemích a lokálních sondách. Na území farnosti žil určitý počet evangelíků. Ti patřili k helvétskému sboru ve Dvakačovicích a byli obklopeni převážně katolickým obyvatelstvem. Často nemohli najít partnera mezi souvěrci, a tak uzavírali smíšená manželství s katolíky. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První se zabývá literaturou, prameny a vývojem manželského práva v 19. století. Druhá část obsahuje rozbor otázek pokládaných snoubencům, vývoj sňatečnosti, smíšené sňatky a případové studie.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on researching the frequency of interdenominational marriages and other diriment impediments in the Parish Dašice in the 19th century. The thesis analyses nuptiality using the method of anonymous excerpt data from the wedding protocol. The final results were compared with the results of Czech counties and local probes. A number of Evangelicals lived in the territory of the Parish who belonged to the Helvetic congregation in Dvakačovice, but they were surrounded by a mainly Catholic population. They often could not find partners among fellow Evangelicals so they married into interdenominational marriages with Catholics. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with literature, sources and development of marriage legislation in the 19th century. The second part contains analysis of questions asked to the engaged couples, research of the nuptiality, interdenominational marriages and case studies.
