Visual representation of cultural-geographical phenomena

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou kulturně-geografických jevů a jejich vizuální reprezentací. Cílem práce je provést rešerši, analýzu a testování optimálních metod vizualizace kulturních jevů (mapy, schémata a další vizuálie), a to s ohledem na to, aby byla reflektována jejich dynamičnost a proměnlivost v čase a prostoru. V rámci problematiky kulturně-geografických jevů se věnuje kultuře, kulturní geografii a vybraným kulturně-geografickým jevům, kterými jsou náboženství, jazyky, národy a etnika. Dále soustředí svou pozornost na vizuální reprezentaci, přičemž se zaobírá teorií grafického designu, vyjadřovacími prostředky a možnostmi vizualizace. Součástí této práce je také kvalitativní analýza, jež reflektuje jejich přednosti a úskalí. Práce zároveň obsahuje vlastní návrhy stylově sourodých vizuálií.

Abstract:

This study deals with the issue of cultural-geographical phenomena and their visual representation. The main goal is to perform a search, analysis and testing the optimal methods of visualization cultural phenomena (maps, schemes, and other visuals), with a view to reflect their dynamic character and variability in time and space. Within the issue of cultural-geographical phenomena it devotes to culture, cultural geography and selected cultural-geographical phenomena, which are religion, languages, nations, and ethnicities. Further it focusses its attention on visual representation, dealing with the theory of graphic design, forms of expression, and visualization options. Part of this study is also qualitative analysis, which reflects their advantages and disadvantages. The study also contains custom designs of stylishly coherent visuals.
