Spacitic linguistics of football journalism in Mladá Fronta Dnes

Abstract:

VII. ANOTACE, SUMMARY Práce rozlišuje, pojmenovává, třídí a analyzuje výrazné jazykové prostředky fotbalové žurnalistiky v největším českém tzv. seriózním deníku Mladá fronta DNES a vyhodnocuje jejich funkčnost. Zaměřuje se přitom na kvalifikační zápasy o účast na mistrovství světa ve fotbale: svými závěry tak zároveň postihuje obecné trendy ve vyjadřování sportovních redaktorů Mladé Fronty DNES při zápasech národního fotbalového mužstva. Stať se přitom snaží odhalit prostředky, kterými autoři textů docilují mimořádně patetického, a mnohdy proto až nezamýšleně absurdního vyznění textů. Deskripcí těchto prostředků a jejich teoretickým ukotvením stať vyplňuje mezeru v oblasti bádání o jazyce současných médií, neboť jazykových prací spojující pole sportovní mluvy a konkrétního média existuje v českém prostředí poskrovnu. Stať se tak snaží shromáždit dostupnou odbornou literaturu a také upozornit na neprobádané směry, kudy by se případný další výzkum jazyka sportu v našich médiích mohl ubírat dál.

Abstract:

The study differentiates and denotes, it classifies and analyses the specific linguistics of football journalism as it is represented in Mladá fronta DNES, a Czech daily newspaper, the largest among those generally considered serious. The study evaluates the functionality of the concerned linguistic tools. It is focused on the matches of the Czech national team to qualify for the World Championship. The conclusions depict general trends in the language of the sport journalism dealing with the Czech national football team. Study tries to dissect means used by the authors of the texts that lead them to finishing with conveying extremely pathetic and thus often unintentionally absurd message. The study, due to the description of the linguistic tools, and due to the theoretic analyses of those, bridges a significant gap since any works in linguistics focused on the sport language of a particular media are very scarce in the Czech milieu. Hence the study begins with collecting all the literature available on the subject. It earmarks the untouched areas in the research of the sport language. And finally, it suggests the directions the further research of the subject could follow.
