Evaluation of the growth of suffolk lambs on the farm Člupy

Abstract:

Tato práce na téma Zhodnocení růstu jehňat plemene suffolk na farmě Člupy byla vypracována jako diplomová práce na Mendelově univerzitě v Brně. Práce je zaměřena na hodnocení růstu jehňat oblíbeného masného plemene suffolk v průběhu roku 2020 na jihomoravské rodinné farmě Člupy. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části – teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je v úvodu zhodnocen chov ovcí v České republice a nastíněn vývoj početních stavů i v některých chovatelsky významných státech. Dále jsou v této části popsány základní aspekty produkce masa, růst a vývin ovcí i s jednotlivými faktory, které růst zvířat ovlivňují. V poslední kapitole literárního přehledu je nastíněna problematika jatečné hodnoty spolu s faktory, které ji ovlivňují. Praktická část je založena na sledování a hodnocení růstu jehňat plemene suffolk na rodinné farmě Člupy. Sledování probíhalo v průběhu roku 2020, kdy byly v rámci experimentu zjišťovány živé hmotnosti jehňat při narození, ve 30, v 70, ve 100 dnech a hmotnost jehňat při prodeji, která už byla u každého jehněte individuální. Tato hmotnost byla u všech jehňat interpolována na věk 150 dní. Zjištěné hodnoty byly statisticky vyhodnoceny v závislosti na pohlaví jehňat, četnosti vrhu a jejich vzájemné interakci. Z výsledků této studie především vyplývá, že pohlaví jehňat mělo vysoce průkazný vliv (P ≤ 0,01) na jejich živou hmotnost při narození, v 70 dnech a ve 100 dnech věku. Dále mělo pohlaví průkazný vliv (P ≤ 0,05) na denní přírůstky v intervalu od narození do 100 dnů a od 30 dnů do 100 dnů věku; denní přírůstky v ostatních intervalech nebyly pohlavím jehňat ovlivněny. Experiment potvrdil vysokou průkaznost (P ≤ 0,01) vlivu četnosti vrhu na živou hmotnost jehňat i na jejich průměrné denní přírůstky v jednotlivých intervalech. Při zhodnocení vlivu interakce četnosti vrhu a pohlaví jehňat bylo zjištěno, že tato interakce průkazně ovlivnila (P ≤ 0,05) živou hmotnost jehňat i jejich průměrné denní přírůstky.

Abstract:

This work on the topic Evaluation of the growth of suffolk lambs on the farm Člupy was developed as a diploma thesis at Mendel University in Brno. The work is aimed at assessing the lambs growth of the popular meat breed suffolk during the year 2020 at the South Moravian family farm Člupy. The work is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the introduction evaluates sheep breeding in the Czech Republic and also the development of numbers in some important states. Further, this section also describes the basic aspects of meat production, sheep growth and development as well as the various factors affecting the growth of the animals. The last chapter of the literary overview outlines the issue of slaughter value together with the factors that influence it. The practical part is based on monitoring and evaluating of the growth of suffolk lambs on the family farm Člupy. The monitoring took place during 2020, when during the experiment measured the birth weight of lambs, at 30, at 70, at 100 days and weight at their sale. It was already individual for each lamb. This weight was interpolated into 150 days of age for all lambs. The obtained values were statistically evaluated depending on the sex of the lambs, the frequency of the litter and their interactions. The results show that the sex of the lambs had a highly significant effect (P ≤ 0,01) on their birth weight, at 70 days and at 100 days of age. Furthermore, sex had a significant effect (P ≤ 0,05) on average daily gain from birth to 100 days and from 30 days to 100 days of age; daily gains in other intervals were not affected by sex of lambs. The experiment confirmed high evidence of the effect (P ≤ 0,01) of litter frequency on the live weight of lambs and on their average daily gains at individual intervals. When evaluating the effect of the interaction litter frequency and sex of lambs, it was found out that this interaction affected (P ≤ 0,05) live weight of lambs and their average daily gains.
